Low-Tech Christmas Gifts Dudes Really Want

This year I had a hard time coming up with things I wanted for Christmas. From what I can tell, everyone in my family had the same problem. I noticed as we were walking around Target, Wal-Mart, Ross, Valencia Town Centre, & various other places I wanted things which were fairly inexpensive.

I just finished watching Hall Pass when we stepped out to go grab a few things for the kids, stocking stuffers and such. There is a scene where Jason Sudeikis says he hurt his shoulder playing Golf. Owen Wilson’s character says “I didn’t know you played golf yesterday”. Jason says he was 240 yards out and he had to give it a good whack. Not real golf though it was Golden Tee. As I am walking through Wal-Mart I see they have the game which connects directly to the ┬áTV using the A/V connections. I wanted it! Don’t know why but I am sure it has something to do with the arcade game being in every bar you have ever been in. Fun and cheap.

Girls like shoes. Also, water is wet, fire is hot, and babies smell good. Dudes like shoes as well. Hell, I love new kicks. I like a different type of shoe. I want shoes that are comfortable and make me look athletic (OK so in my mind I look athletic). Dress shoes? Come on ladies, dudes have a pair of black and brown dress shoes, how many more do we need? Get us some new Shox. Grab a pair of Adidas.

All I want for Christmas is my childhood back
All I want for Christmas is my childhood back!

I used to love all things baseball as a kid. Baseball cards, baseball figurines, the starting lineups, actual baseballs, almost anything with a ball would have passed. When the Dodgers release their schedule I always check to see what bobble-heads will be part of the promotions. There was a time some 3 years ago when I was in the toy section and saw an Ozzie Smith figurine of him doing a backflip. It was $20 and when I showed it to Azul and my kids, they laughed at me. It was $20 and I have regretted not getting it. Now, it would most likely sit on my desk at work since it doesn’t fit the decor of my home but man would it be cool to have.

I like watches, I used to have about 4-5 watches I would wear. I now have one. I got it two Christmases ago from Azul. I wear it pretty much everyday. Watches are just cool and for guys that don’t wear jewelry they become somewhat of an accessory. Get your man a cool watch.

So in summation, your dude wants the following: a cool game that reminds him of hanging in a bar with his buddies, kicks (not shoes) that make him feel athletic and look cool with jeans and a sweater, or a knick knack that reminds him of his childhood that has no place in an adult’s home but would look cool on the shelf in his office. Lastly, if all else fails, get him a watch. Any kind of watch will do, we like them as long as they can be worn with new kicks and a sweater. Now, go forth and get cool gifts for your dudes.
